Each backpack is custom built for you when you order. Many of the popular options are now included in the price and weight of the packs. You can also order a Zero pack and choose only the options you want.

ZPacks™ "Arc Blast" Ultralight Backpack

The Arc Blast is our most comfortable (and our most popular) backpack yet! It has an arched carbon fiber frame with a mesh back panel forming an air gap against your back. The air space keeps your back cool and also provides a buffer from any pointy items in your pack. No extra padding necessary.

The pack is constructed from tough 2.92 oz/sqyd Cuben Hybrid fabric. The material is just like the Cuben Fiber on our regular Blast backpacks below, except with a protective layer of 50 denier Polyester on the outside. The outer layer gives it even more strength, prevents fraying, and gives it a nice solid color. The material and design can handle loads up to 30 lbs (14 kg).

Arc Blast - 3,200 ci (52 Liters) - 15.5 ounces (440 grams), $279

ZPacks™ "Blast" Cuben Fiber Ultralight Frameless Backpack

The "Blast" packs are frameless and can utilize a coiled or folded foam sleeping pad for support. They are made from lightweight but strong 1.43 oz/sqyd Cuben Fiber fabric. The material is difficult to puncture or tear, while still being extremely light. The material can handle 25 lbs but lighter loads are encouraged!

I carried an original Blast 30 pack on both my 2,663 mile Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike, and on my 2,651 mile Continental Divide Trail thru-hike. The expected life span is one full thru-hike.

Many popular pack options are included in the price and weight by default.

Blast 24 - 2,400 cu in (39 Liters), 8.4 oz (238 grams), $195
Blast 30 - 3,000 cu in (50 Liters), 9.0 oz (255 grams), $205
Blast 36 - 3,600 cu in (58 Liters), 9.4 oz (266 grams), $215

This pack is also available in 2.92 oz/sqyd Cuben Hybrid fabric like the Arc Blast at about 2.5 ounces heavier.
