"Exo" Ultralight External Frame Backpack
New 8/20/11!
The "Exo" is an ultralight external frame backpack made from a
new 2.92 oz/sqyd Hybrid Cuben-Nylon fabric. The material is the same tough
Cuben Fiber as our Blast backpacks below, except with a protective layer
of nylon on the outside which gives it more strength, prevents fraying,
and gives it a nice solid color.
This pack is available with a super light adjustable carbon fiber frame,
or as a frameless pack. Even more popular options are included on this
pack than the Blast packs.

"Blast" Cuben Fiber Ultralight Backpacks
The "Blast" series of packs are made from a tough 1.43 oz/sqyd
variety Cuben Fiber fabric. The material is difficult to puncture or
tear, while still being extremely light. The material can handle 25 lbs but
lighter loads are encouraged! I carried a Blast 26 pack on both my 2,663
mile Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike, and on my 2,651 mile Continental
Divide Trail thru-hike. The expected life span is one full thru-hike.
Many popular options including a padded belt, sternum strap, daisy chain,
haul loop, top strap, side straps, and a mesh center pocket are now included in the price and weight.
**The sizes below have recently been revised upwards to better reflect the
measured
volume of the backpacks + pockets. The actual dimensions of the packs
have not changed.

The Zero is built just like the backpacks above except that by default
is has zero pockets or features (great as a daypack). This pack can be
customized with pockets and options to create a simple individualized
pack with only the features you need.Available in four sizes, in
either 1.43 oz/sqyd Cuben Fiber like the Blast pack, or in 2.92 oz/sqyd
Hybrid material like the Exo.
